Preparations for back to school often include shopping for new clothes and gathering up school supplies. But as part of your back to school to-do list, don’t forget to consider your child’s vision.

Vision problems can lead to issues with learning, behavior, and confidence. For example, kids that have visual impairments that go undetected can develop delays in learning. Some kids may also become bored with school and have trouble concentrating.

Common causes of traumatic brain injuries include falls, motor vehicle accidents, and sports injuries. Traumatic brain injuries can interfere with the signals between the eyes and the brain and affect vision.

From snowshoeing to ice fishing, there are many winter activities to get involved in, but it is also important to take precautions to stay safe and healthy out in the cold weather.

In addition to wearing the right gear, it is important to protect your eyes. Snow blindness may not be something on your radar, but it is not an uncommon condition, especially if you spend a lot of time outside in the winter.

What are Fungal Eye Diseases | Fungal Disease Awareness Week

​Various types of pathogens can affect the eyes and lead to an infection. Although fungal infections are much less common than bacterial and viral eye infections, they can be very severe. Fungal eye infections can lead to permanent vision problems, including blindness. September 23rd marks the start of Fungal Disease Awareness Week and it’s an excellent time to learn more about fungal eye infections and how to prevent them.
